The limited edition LeBoeuf Thomas Jefferson Declaration of Independence Rollerball Pen celebrates the life of one of America’s most influential Founding Fathers and the nation-building document he authored. Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826) was, of course, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the third President of the United States, serving from 1801–1809. Statesman, diplomat, lawyer and architect, Jefferson was at heart a philosopher and writer. Over the course of 17 days, Jefferson wrote the draft of the Declaration with the help of a committee which included Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. On July 4, 1776, Congress ratified and adopted the document, which was signed by 56 members of Congress on August 2, 1776. In 1785, he succeeded Benjamin Franklin as Minister to France and served as Vice President under opponent John Adams before ascending to the Presidency in 1800. Upon the completion of his second term as President, Jefferson retired to Monticello, the home he had designed himself; he died there on July 4, 1826. The LeBoeuf Thomas Jefferson Rollerball features an acrylic barrel in Old Glory red, white and blue with Jefferson’s signature engraved in gold. A 14 kt gold-plated  Declaration of Independence 1776 commemorative coin has been fitted on to the top of each cap.
